Mustard sauerkraut cheddar bratwurst casserole with crispy fries - a delicious twist on a classic dish!
Ingredients:
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can sauerkraut, liquid drained and reserved
  • 2 tablespoons brown mustard
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground celery seed
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 12 ounces fully-cooked cheddar bratwurst sausages, cut into 1/4-inch slices
  • 0.5 (16 ounce) package frozen shoestring french fries
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Evenly layer sauerkraut in a 9-inch square glass baking dish.
  • Combine reserved sauerkraut liquid, brown mustard, brown sugar, celery seed, and black pepper in a bowl. Pour the mixture over the sauerkraut. Layer sausage slices on top, then scatter frozen french fries over the sausage.
  • Bake until the fries are golden and crispy, 20 to 30 minutes in a preheated oven.
