Easy and delicious biscuits loaded with sharp Cheddar cheese, scallions, and buttermilk, no kneading or rolling needed.
Ingredients:
  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon grill seasoning (such as McCormick® Grill Mates® Montreal Steak Seasoning)
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.75 cup cold, unsalted butter, shredded on a box grater
  • 1.25 cups buttermilk
  • 0.75 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 0.25 cup minced green onion, white and green parts
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  • Combine flour, baking powder, salt, steak seasoning, and baking soda in a large bowl. Mix in shredded butter using your fingertips until a crumbly mixture forms.
  • Slowly pour in the buttermilk while stirring with a stiff rubber spatula until a soft, moist dough forms and holds together. Quickly fold in the Cheddar cheese and scallions, mixing until all the flour is incorporated.
  • Use a two-tablespoon cookie scoop to place biscuit dough on a large baking pan, arranging them with 3 in each row. Lightly brush the biscuits with melted butter on top.
  • Bake biscuits until they are golden brown, nicely risen, and cooked through, around 17 to 22 minutes. Allow them to cool on the pan for about 5 minutes before serving warm.
