Mouthwatering puff pastry cheese pockets, perfect for breakfast or as an appetizer, can also be stuffed with mashed potatoes or spinach feta filling. Serve with salad, olives, and yogurt Israeli-style.
Ingredients:
  • 2 large eggs, divided
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 pinch garlic powder
  • 1 pinch onion powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 1 (17.5 ounce) package frozen puff pastry
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking sheet.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk one egg and combine with cheese. Season generously with parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Set aside for later use.
  • On a lightly floured surface, divide each puff pastry sheet into 6 equal squares, totaling 12 squares.
  • In a small bowl, whisk the remaining egg with water. Lightly brush the edges of each pastry square with the egg wash. Add a generous tablespoon of the cheese mixture to the center of each square. Fold the pastry over the filling and seal the edges with a fork. Place the pastries on the baking sheet, brush the tops with the remaining egg wash, and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes until beautifully golden brown.
