Irresistible gooey cheese and crispy crust make this pull-apart loaf a family favorite.
Ingredients:
  • 2.4kg pkt Laucke Crusty White Bread Mix
  • 3 red onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 10g butter, melted
  • 120g tasty cheese
Instructions:
  • Follow the packet directions to prepare one-quarter of the bread mix. Allow it to prove and set aside.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Cook onion and garlic, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes until onion softens.
  • Prepare the loaf pan by greasing it. Deflate the dough by punching it down. Roll it out on a lightly floured surface into a 38cm x 40cm rectangle. Brush the dough with melted butter, then add the onion mixture and cheese on top. Slice into 20 rectangles and arrange them sideways in the pan. Cover the pan with plastic wrap, and let it rest in a warm, draft-free area for 40 minutes or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat the oven to 220°C. Bake the pull-apart bread for 25 minutes or until it produces a hollow sound when tapped. Cool on a wire rack and enjoy warm or at room temperature.
