Create a delicious and zesty cheesy pasta dish using ground beef, salsa, and taco seasoning for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground beef (80% lean)
  • 2 cups fresh salsa
  • 1 teaspoon taco seasoning mix
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1.5 cups hot water
  • 1.5 cups elbow macaroni
  • 1 (8 ounce) package processed cheese food (such as Velveeta®), cut into cubes
  • 4 ounces shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat. Brown and crumble the beef in the skillet for 5 to 7 minutes; remember to drain off the excess grease.
  • Place skillet back on the stove. Mix in salsa, taco seasoning, and black pepper with the beef. Let it simmer until heated through, approximately 5 minutes.
  • Combine water, macaroni, and milk with the beef mixture, simmer covered until pasta is tender, about 10 minutes.
  • Combine the cheese food and Cheddar cheese into the pasta mixture, stirring until the cheese melts completely, which should take about 5 to 7 minutes.
