Cheesy turkey meatloaf with gooey Velveeta® cheese, a delicious twist on a classic dish that will be loved by the whole family.
Ingredients:
  • cooking spray
  • 0.5 sweet onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 pounds ground turkey
  • 1 pound processed cheese (such as Velveeta®), cubed
  • 0.5 cup crushed buttery round crackers
  • 0.33333334326744 cup ketchup
  • 1 pinch garlic salt, or to taste
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • aluminum foil
  • 0.25 cup ketchup, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease a loaf pan with cooking spray.
  • Prepare the skillet with a light coating of cooking spray. Cook the onion and garlic until the onion is tender, approximately 5 minutes. Let it cool down.
  • Combine ground turkey, cheese cubes, crushed crackers, 1/3 cup ketchup, egg, garlic salt, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Mix in cooled onion and garlic mixture until thoroughly incorporated. Transfer into a loaf pan lined with foil. Place the pan on a baking sheet, and cover with aluminum foil.
  • After an hour in the preheated oven, uncover the meatloaf, pour out any extra juices, top with ketchup, and continue baking until the center is fully cooked, approximately 30 minutes. Ensure the internal temperature reaches a minimum of 160°F (70°C) when tested with a thermometer.
