Create a delicious cherry crumble pie by topping pie crust with crumb topping, frozen fruit, and pie filling for a simple and delightful treat.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.333 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into chunks, softened
  • 0.333 cup rolled oats
  • 2.5 cups frozen pitted cherries
  • 1 (9 inch) deep-dish pie crust
  • 1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a food processor, blend together flour, brown sugar, sugar, cinnamon, allspice, ginger, cloves, salt, and nutmeg until well combined, about 30 seconds. Gradually add butter through the chute while processing until the mixture resembles wet sand, scraping the sides as needed.
  • Combine oats in a large bowl until well mixed.
  • Layer the frozen cherries evenly in the pie crust, then spread the pie filling on top before sprinkling with the crumble topping. Transfer the pie onto a sheet pan.
  • Place in the preheated oven for 1 hour. Allow to cool for 2 to 3 hours before serving.
