Tangy balsamic chicken agrodolce, cooked with citrus juices for a delicious Italian twist.
Ingredients:
  • 4 large skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh ginger
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 0.33333334326744 cup dry white wine
  • 0.25 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 0.5 cup orange juice
  • 0.25 cup lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons toasted pine nuts
Instructions:
  • Dredge chicken in flour.
  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, sizzle chicken in olive oil with garlic, ginger, and bay leaves until golden brown on each side, approximately 5 minutes.
  • Combine wine, vinegar, and honey in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook and stir until sauce is reduced by half, about 5 minutes. Stir in orange juice, lemon juice, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Continue cooking until sauce is reduced by 2/3, about 10 minutes. Strain the sauce.
  • Drizzle the strained reduction sauce over the chicken, sprinkle with pine nuts, and gently simmer over medium heat for about 20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) when checked with a thermometer.
