Swiss cheese-stuffed ham and chicken meatballs, breaded, fried, and baked for a delicious chicken Cordon Bleu appetizer.
Ingredients:
  • 9 ounces ground chicken
  • 0.25 cup cooked, diced ham
  • 0.5 cup bread crumbs
  • salt
  • 8 ounces Swiss cheese, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
  • canola oil for pan-frying
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix together chicken, ham, and egg until thoroughly combined. Slowly incorporate bread crumbs until the mixture is no longer sticky and can be shaped into balls. Season with salt and pepper to your liking.
  • Shape the chicken mixture around the cheese cubes to form 2-inch balls and set them on a plate.
  • Heat a generous amount of oil in a deep skillet until it reaches 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Fry the balls in hot oil until they turn golden brown, approximately 4 minutes. Drain them on paper towels and transfer to a baking dish.
  • Bake in the oven until fully cooked and cheese is gooey, approximately 20 minutes. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
