Savory Swiss cheese, tender chicken, and flavorful ham layered in a deliciously easy twist on Chicken Cordon Bleu lasagna.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (8 ounce) package lasagna noodles
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1.5 cups shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1.75 cups warm milk
  • 2.5 cups cooked chicken, chopped
  • 8 ounces deli ham, chopped
  • 0.5 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 0.5 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 pinch Italian seasoning, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) for the perfect temperature to start cooking.
  • 1. Boil a pot of generously salted water. 2. Cook the lasagna in the boiling water, stirring occasionally until al dente, around 8 minutes. 3. Drain the lasagna.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add cream cheese and stir until it starts melting, about 5 minutes. Season with salt, onion powder, and black pepper. Gradually whisk in warm milk until smooth, then stir in 1 1/2 cups of Swiss cheese. Simmer the sauce, stirring constantly, until the cheese has melted and the sauce has thickened for 5 to 10 minutes. Remove from heat.
  • Start by spreading a generous 3/4 cup of cheese sauce evenly on the bottom of your 9x9-inch baking dish. Layer one-third of the lasagna noodles over the sauce, then spread a combination of half the cooked chicken and half the ham on top. Pour a luscious 1 cup of sauce over the chicken and ham. Continue layering with half of the remaining lasagna noodles, the rest of the chicken, the rest of the ham, and another cup of cheese sauce. Finish with the last layer of lasagna noodles, the remaining sauce, a sprinkle of 1/2 cup Swiss cheese, and a dusting of bread crumbs and Italian seasoning. Lastly, cover the dish with aluminum foil.
  • Bake the casserole in a preheated oven until it's bubbling, around 25 minutes. Remove foil and continue baking until the crumbs are golden brown, about 10 more minutes. Allow the casserole to rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
