Delicious fusion wings with Korean and Chinese inspired flavors, paired with eggy rice for a happy and messy eating experience. Perfect for both kids and adults to enjoy together. Not recommended for a first date!
Ingredients:
  • 12 chicken wings
  • 2 heaped teaspoons Chinese five-spice
  • 200 g brown rice
  • 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger
  • 2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon low-salt soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon runny honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 12 fresh chillies
  • 2 pak choi
  • sesame oil
Instructions:
  • 1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F/gas 4. 2. Prepare the chicken wings by straightening them out, cutting through the skin, and popping out any joints. Secure them in place with wooden skewers if desired. 3. Place the wings in a roasting tray, sprinkle with five-spice and salt, toss to coat, and cover with foil. 4. Roast for about 50 minutes until tender. 5. Cook rice according to package instructions, then let it cool on a tray. 6. Make a glaze by mixing grated ginger, ketchup, soy sauce, and honey. 7. Remove foil, coat wings with glaze, and return to oven or grill for 30 minutes until golden, brushing with more glaze every 5-10 minutes. 8. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top. 9. Cook sliced garlic, chili, and pak choi in a pan, add rice to heat through. 10. Prepare a sauce by deglazing the roasting tray with water, simmer for 5 minutes. 11. Combine sauce with rice, scramble an egg into the mixture. 12. Season and serve with sticky chicken wings immediately.
