Savory beef chili and pasta baked with cheese for a comforting meal.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can Mexican or chili-style stewed tomatoes, undrained
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni or small shells, cooked and drained
  • 2 cups Sargento ® Shredded Reduced Fat 4 Cheese Mexican Cheese, divided
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) to get it nice and hot for our cooking adventure.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté ground beef, onion, and bell pepper until beef is no longer pink, about 5 minutes. Discard drippings.
  • Simmer tomatoes, water, and taco seasoning for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat, then mix in cooked pasta until combined.
  • Spread 3 cups of meat mixture in an 11x7-inch baking dish. Sprinkle with 1 cup of cheese, then layer with the remaining meat mixture. Cover the dish with aluminum foil.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Remove foil and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake for an additional 5 minutes until the cheese is melted.
