Tangy Asian cabbage salad with sweet & sour dressing, topped with crunchy ramen noodles, almonds, and sesame seeds. Serves six.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (3 ounce) package chicken flavored ramen noodles
  • 0.5 cup sesame seeds, toasted
  • 0.5 cup blanched slivered almonds
  • 1 large head napa cabbage, shredded
  • 6 green onions, chopped
  • 0.25 cup vegetable oil
  • 0.25 cup rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 0.125 cup white sugar
Instructions:
  • Crush the noodles, then brown them in butter in a medium skillet over medium heat. Stir in almonds and sesame seeds, making sure to prevent burning. Add the seasoning mix from the noodles and allow to cool. Combine everything in a large bowl with cabbage and onions.
  • Whisk together vegetable oil, rice vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and sugar to create the dressing. Drizzle the dressing over the salad, mix well, and enjoy!
