Grill up delicious and simple pork skewers on the barbecue.
Ingredients:
  • 600g pork leg steaks, cut into 2cm pieces
  • 36.40 gm peanut oil
  • 62.50 ml char siu sauce
  • 44.00 gm sweet chilli sauce
  • 21.00 gm soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Chinese five spice powder
  • 20.00 gm boiling water
  • 2 bunches baby pak choy, halved lengthways
  • Steamed jasmine rice, to serve
Instructions:
  • In a shallow glass or ceramic dish, place the pork. Mix oil and sauces in a jug, then drizzle half over the pork. Sprinkle five spice and toss to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours, if time allows.
  • Skewer the pork. Mix boiling water with the remaining sauce mixture, then set aside. Rinse the pak choy under cold water and shake dry, leaving some water clinging to the leaves.
  • Preheat a greased barbecue plate or chargrill over medium-high heat. Grill skewers, turning occasionally, until fully cooked, about 6 to 8 minutes. Place on a plate, cover with foil, and let rest for 5 minutes. Grill pak choy, turning occasionally, until wilted, about 2 to 3 minutes. Serve skewers with grilled pak choy, rice, and sauce.
