Chipolata rolls with caramelised onions

Delicious caramelized onion and chipolata rolls - perfect for entertaining as a starter or appetizer.
Ingredients:
  • 4 onions, sliced
  • 62.50 ml balsamic vinegar
  • 32.00 gm brown sugar
  • 40.00 ml thyme leaves
  • 8 turkey chipolata sausages
  • 8 dinner rolls
Instructions:
  • Preheat a barbecue plate over medium heat. Sauté the onion in oil for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened and lightly browned (can also use a frying pan).
  • Combine balsamic vinegar, sugar, and thyme in a pot. Cook over low heat, stirring, for 10 minutes until the onion is very soft. Season to taste and transfer to a bowl.
  • Cook the chipolatas on the barbecue plate or char-grill for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are fully cooked. Serve the chipolatas in rolls with onions.
