Elevate classic cookies with decadent chocolate chips.
Ingredients:
  • 6 slices white bread
  • 40.00 gm spreadable butter
  • 2 x 375ml cans creamy evaporated milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 70.95 gm caster sugar
  • 4.40 gm vanilla extract
  • 82.50 ml choc chips
  • Thick cream, to serve
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a moderate 180C and lightly grease a 6-cup ovenproof dish.
  • Butter each slice of bread, then cut them into quarters diagonally. Arrange the bread pieces in the dish, slightly overlapping them.
  • Combine milk, eggs, sugar, and vanilla in a bowl. Mix in chocolate chips then pour this delicious mixture over the bread in the dish. Allow it to rest for 10 minutes, letting the flavors meld beautifully as the bread soaks up the goodness.
  • Transfer the dish to a spacious baking pan and pour in enough boiling water to reach halfway up the sides of the dish.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until the custard is perfectly set. Allow it to rest for 5 minutes before serving alongside a dollop of thick cream.
