Dark chocolate chip and almond bread pudding baked in rich vanilla-almond custard.
Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 12 slices day-old bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 0.5 cup dark chocolate chips, or to taste
  • 0.25 cup sliced almonds, or to taste
  • 8 eggs, beaten
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect bake.
  • Drizzle the warm butter over the bread cubes in the baking dish, ensuring they are fully coated. Mix in the chocolate chips and almonds until evenly distributed throughout the bread mixture.
  • Combine eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, almond extract, and nutmeg in a bowl, then evenly pour over the bread mixture, gently pressing down with a spatula until the bread is soaked with the egg mixture.
  • Bake until the bread pudding's top bounces back when touched, approximately 45 minutes in the preheated oven.
