Chocolate and cheese dessert platter recipe

Satisfy both sweet and savory cravings with a delectable platter of chocolate and cheese, perfect for a satisfying finish to any meal.
Ingredients:
  • Lindt Fruit Sensation chocolates, to serve, to serve
  • Lindt Excellence 70% Cocoa chocolate
  • Milk and dark balls, to serve
  • Ash triple cream brie, to serve
  • 150g halva (find at selected supermarkets)
  • 75g fresh ricotta
  • 24 fresh medjool dates
  • 100g Dessert 70% Cocoa cooking chocolate, melted
  • 2 sheets good-quality frozen butter puff pastry, just thawed
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 40g (1/2 cup) finely grated parmesan
  • 2 tsp fennel seeds
  • 2.40 gm sea salt flakes
Instructions:
  • Combine the halva and ricotta in a food processor and blend until smooth. Transfer the mixture into a piping bag with a star nozzle for decorating.
  • Prepare a tray with baking paper. Using a small paring knife, carefully cut down the center of each date without cutting all the way through. Remove the seed. Pipe the halva mixture into the dates until filled and place them on the prepared tray.
  • Drizzle the melted chocolate over the mixture and refrigerate for 30 minutes, or until the chocolate hardens.
  • Preheat your oven to 220C/200C fan forced. Grease and line 2 baking trays with baking paper.
  • 1. Cut the pastry sheet into 1cm-thick strips. Braid 3 strips together, then transfer to the baking tray. Repeat with the remaining strips and the second pastry sheet.
  • 1. Coat the braids with beaten egg. 2. Sprinkle half with cayenne pepper and parmesan, and the rest with fennel seeds and salt. 3. Bake for 12-15 minutes until crispy and golden. 4. Let them cool before serving.
