Tuscan dark chocolate biscotti: The perfect Christmas treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1.25 cups white sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.75 cup chopped dark chocolate
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, mix sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract with an electric mixer until frothy. Stir in flour and baking powder until well combined. Gently fold in chocolate pieces until a sticky dough forms. Divide the dough into 2 portions and shape each into a long, thick log. Space the logs 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
  • Bake logs in the oven until beautifully golden brown, for about 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Take out the logs from the oven and let them cool for about 5 minutes until easily manageable. Transfer them to a cutting board and slice diagonally into 3/4-inch pieces using a serrated knife.
  • Place the cantucci slices back on the baking sheet and let them sit in the warm oven (turned off) for 30 minutes to dry. Allow them to cool for approximately 10 minutes at room temperature before serving.
