Irresistible caramel pecan bars - a delicious and addictive treat!
Ingredients:
  • 200g packet Kingston biscuits
  • 100g butter, melted
  • 395g can sweetened condensed milk
  • 53.60 gm golden syrup
  • 32.00 gm brown sugar
  • 60g butter, chopped
  • 180g dark chocolate
  • 50g butter
  • 250.00 ml pecan nuts, chopped
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C/160°C fan-forced. Grease a 20cm square cake pan that is 4cm deep, then line the base and sides with baking paper, ensuring 3cm overhang on all sides.
  • Pulse biscuits until finely chopped. Add butter and pulse until mixed. Press mixture firmly onto pan. Cover and refrigerate for 10 minutes until set.
  • Simmer condensed milk, golden syrup, sugar, and butter in a saucepan until thickened, stirring constantly for 8-10 minutes. Pour the mixture over the base and bake until golden brown for 10-12 minutes. Allow it to cool before serving.
  • Create the topping by melting chocolate and butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on medium (50%) for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds with a metal spoon until smooth. Spread this mixture over the filling, sprinkle with pecans, then refrigerate for 4 hours until set. Finally, cut into rectangles and serve.
