Indulgent chocolate cherry cake made effortlessly with cake mix and cherry pie filling, finished with luscious homemade chocolate frosting.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package chocolate cake mix
  • 1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 0.33333334326744 cup milk
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13-inch baking pan by greasing and flouring it.
  • In a large bowl, mix together cake mix, cherry pie filling, and three eggs until fully combined. Pour the cake mixture into the prepared pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely.
  • For the frosting, in a saucepan, combine sugar, butter, and milk. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly for 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips until melted and smooth. Spread the luscious frosting evenly over the cooled chocolate cake.
