Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 0.75 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1.3333333730698 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set it aside for later use.
  • Cream together the vegetable shortening and sugars in a large bowl until fluffy. Mix in the egg and vanilla. Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients.
  • Gently mix in the chocolate chips and nuts. Refrigerate the mixture for 2 to 3 hours, allowing the flavors to meld together perfectly.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect bake.
  • Spoon cookie dough onto shiny, lightly greased baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden brown. Remove from oven and transfer to wire racks to cool. Note: Cookies will continue to darken slightly after baking.
