Indulgent chocolate chip and nut cookies for the ultimate sweet treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1 bag (24 oz) semisweet chocolate chips (4 cups)
  • 1 package (6 oz) white chocolate baking bars
  • 1 cup butter or margarine (2 sticks), room temperature
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecan or walnut halves
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Melt 1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips in a 1-quart saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth. Allow the melted chocolate to cool to room temperature for about 15 minutes, ensuring it remains creamy. While waiting, prepare 1/4- to 1/2-inch chunks of white chocolate baking bars.
  • Using an electric mixer on medium speed, blend butter, brown sugar, and vanilla in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs and melted chocolate, then continue mixing until fluffy. Incorporate flour, baking soda, and salt gently with a wooden spoon. Finally, fold in 2 1/2 cups chocolate chips, white chocolate chunks, and pecan halves.
  • Using a 1/4-cup measuring cup, scoop dough and level off with a knife. Drop dough onto ungreased cookie sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 12 to 14 minutes until set (centers should be soft and moist). Let cool on the cookie sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack using a turner. Make sure to cool the cookie sheets before baking the next batch.
