Bake chocolate chip cookie dough into a cake, top with homemade chocolate frosting for a delicious chocolate chip cookie cake that kids will love.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 0.66666668653488 cup white sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
  • 1.5 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 0.75 cup butter, softened
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 10 1/2x15 1/2-inch baking pan and line it with waxed paper.
  • In a bowl, use an electric mixer to blend 1 cup of butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth and creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract and salt. Gradually incorporate flour until just mixed, then gently fold in 1 cup of chocolate chips. Spread the batter into the prepared pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until light golden brown on the edges. Allow to cool completely after removing from the oven.
  • Melt 1 cup chocolate chips in a double boiler, stirring frequently to avoid scorching. Beat confectioners' sugar and 3/4 cup butter with an electric mixer until smooth; add melted chocolate and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, mix until frosting is smooth, then spread over cooled cookie cake.
