Indulgent chocolate espresso banana bread with gooey chocolate chips and a decadent chocolate drizzle.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups mashed very ripe bananas (3 to 4 bananas)
  • 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon instant espresso powder
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (6 oz)
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 325°F. Grease two 8x4-inch loaf pans generously with canola oil cooking spray.
  • Combine ripe bananas, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla, and eggs in a medium bowl. In a separate bowl, mix flour, espresso powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Combine the dry ingredients with the banana mixture, then add chocolate chips. Pour the batter into loaf pans and sprinkle a tablespoon of granulated sugar on top before baking.
  • Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until golden and firm. Let it cool for 10 minutes, then invert from pans onto a cooling rack with the top side up. Allow it to cool completely before cutting.
