Decadent chocolate-chunk cookie bars with sweet coconut topping and drizzled chocolate - a crowd-pleasing treat inspired by chocolate-dipped macaroons.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Double Chocolate Chunk Cookie Mix
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups flaked coconut
  • 2/3 cup canned sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
  • 1/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and generously spray a 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.
  • Combine cookie mix, softened butter, water, and egg in a large bowl until a soft dough forms. Evenly spread the dough in the pan and bake for 15 minutes.
  • Combine shredded coconut and sweetened condensed milk in a medium bowl. Gently spread the coconut mixture over the partially baked base. Bake for 17 to 20 minutes until coconut is golden brown. Allow to cool completely for about 2 hours before serving.
  • Place the chocolate chips in a small microwavable bowl and microwave on High for 30 to 60 seconds. Remember to stir halfway through until the chips are smooth. Transfer the melted chocolate into a resealable food-storage plastic bag and partially seal it. Cut a small tip from the corner of the bag and drizzle the chocolate over the top. Allow it to set for about 1 hour. Once the chocolate has set, cut it into 6 rows by 4 rows. Store the chocolate in an airtight container at room temperature.
