Decadent chocolate cookies topped with French fleur de sel for the perfect balance of salty and sweet.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chunks
  • fleur de sel to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  • Combine flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl and whisk until well mixed. Set aside.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt butter and chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, blending thoroughly. Mix in brown sugar, white sugar, and vanilla extract until combined. Fold in flour mixture until fully incorporated. Gently fold in chocolate chunks.
  • Scoop rounded teaspoonfuls of cookie dough onto a baking stone or nonstick cookie sheets and generously sprinkle fleur de sel over the tops.
  • Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10 to 14 minutes until they flatten but the centers remain soft. Let them cool on wire racks.
