Cherry and chocolate topped cookies - a sweet and unique treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
  • 0.33333334326744 cup packed brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 18 maraschino cherries, halved
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • Mix together the flour and sugar, then gently blend in the butter until the mixture resembles a pie crust.
  • Press the mixture evenly into an 8 x 8 inch pan, then bake for 20 minutes.
  • Slice the dish into 36 squares while it's still warm. Arrange the squares in a pan lined with wax paper and allow them to cool.
  • Take each cherry half and perfectly position it in the center, cut side facing down. Melt the chocolate gently over low heat. Carefully spoon a generous amount of the melted chocolate over each cherry. Let them chill in the refrigerator briefly until the chocolate is set.
