Prepare luxurious chocolate ganache in 15 minutes using cream and semisweet chocolate for an elegant cake glaze.
Ingredients:
  • 2/3 cup whipping (heavy) cream
  • 6 oz semisweet baking chocolate, chopped
Instructions:
  • Warm the whipping cream in a 1-quart saucepan over low heat until just hot, being careful not to let it boil. Remove from the heat.
  • Melt the chocolate by stirring until smooth. Allow it to sit for approximately 5 minutes. The ganache is ready when it forms soft peaks when spooned. It will thicken as it cools.
  • Carefully pour the ganache onto the center of the cake, then use a large spatula to spread it evenly over the top and let it flow down to cover the sides of the cake. This amount of ganache is perfect for frosting a 13x9-inch cake or the top and sides of an 8- or 9-inch two-layer cake.
