Indulge in a rich and irresistible chocolate gooey butter cake twist on a classic favorite.
Ingredients:
  • 15.25 ounces chocolate fudge cake mix (such as Betty Crocker®)
  • 0.5 cup salted butter, melted
  • 4 eggs, divided
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 5 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • Combine the cake mix, butter, 2 eggs, and vanilla extract in a bowl until well blended. Press the mixture into the prepared pan.
  • Using an electric mixer, blend cream cheese, cocoa powder, and remaining eggs in a separate bowl until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and beat until well combined. Pour mixture over the cake layer in the pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow it to cool.
