Irresistible chocolate cigar treats that disappear in a flash.
Ingredients:
  • 2 sheets filo pastry
  • 25g butter, melted
  • 187.50 ml dry roasted hazelnuts, finely chopped
  • 57.20 gm honey, warmed
  • 100g dark chocolate, chopped
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 200°C/180°C fan-forced and line a baking tray with baking paper. Lay one sheet of pastry on your work surface and brush it with butter. Place the second sheet on top and repeat the butter-brushing. Cut the pastry into quarters, then cut each quarter in half to make 8 pieces. Mix the nuts and honey in a bowl. Spoon 1 tablespoon of the mixture onto each piece of pastry. Brush the edges of the pastry with butter. Roll up the pastry from one long side, tucking in the edges to create cigar shapes.
  • Arrange the cigars on a prepared tray and generously brush them with the remaining butter. Bake in the oven for 8 to 10 minutes until they turn a beautiful golden color and become delightfully crisp. Allow them to cool before serving.
  • In a heatproof, microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate in the microwave on high for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
  • Melt chocolate and carefully dip half of each cigar into the luscious chocolate. Arrange them on a wire rack to allow the chocolate to set. Serve and enjoy the delightful treats.
