Create decadent 'hockey puck' treats by layering peanut butter cups and chocolate sandwich cookies, then covering with melted chocolate.
Ingredients:
  • 16 chocolate sandwich cookies (such as Oreo®)
  • 16 chocolate-covered peanut butter cups (such as Reese's®)
  • 1 (12 ounce) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
Instructions:
  • Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with waxed paper.
  • Carefully separate each sandwich cookie by delicately slicing it with a paring knife. Generously spread the filling on one half of each cookie. Place one peanut butter cup on top of the filling on each cookie. Sandwich the cookies together with the remaining halves. Arrange the assembled cookies on a microwave-safe plate.
  • Microwave the cookie sandwiches for 5 seconds until the chocolate is slightly softened. Press firmly to seal both sides of the cookie to the peanut butter cup.
  • Combine the chocolate chips and shortening in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 1-minute intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is smooth and melted.
  • Carefully submerge each cookie sandwich into the luscious melted chocolate, ensuring it's entirely coated. Let any extra chocolate drip off before transferring onto a baking sheet lined with waxed paper. Conceal any fingerprints with a touch of extra melted chocolate. Freeze the cookies until the chocolate sets, for a minimum of 30 minutes.
