Indulgent sugar cookies with cream cheese and three types of chocolate for chocolate lovers.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 package (3 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 3 oz semisweet or bittersweet baking chocolate, melted, cooled
  • 2 1/2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 6 oz vanilla-flavored candy coating (almond bark), melted
  • 6 oz chocolate-flavored candy coating (almond bark), melted
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. In a large bowl, blend sugar, butter, vanilla, egg, cream cheese, and chocolate using an electric mixer until smooth, or mix with a spoon. Mix in flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Roll out half of the dough on a lightly floured surface to 1/8-inch thickness using a floured rolling pin. Cut into desired shapes using 2 1/2-inch cookie cutters (you can dip cutters in baking cocoa for added flavor). Place shapes on an ungreased cookie sheet about 1 inch apart.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until the cookies are dry and set. Transfer them from the baking sheet to a cooling rack and let them cool completely for about 30 minutes.
  • Dip half of each cookie into melted vanilla coating, then add small dots of melted chocolate coating on top. Use a toothpick to create a marbled design. Place on waxed paper and let sit for about 10 minutes until coating is firm.
