Chocolate Malt Cake

Indulgent chocolate cake made with Betty Crocker™ milk chocolate cake mix, garnished with malted milk balls.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Milk Chocolate Cake Mix
  • 3/4 cup chocolate malted milk powder
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 cups whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup chocolate-covered malted milk balls, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan) and generously spray a 13x9-inch pan with baking spray that includes flour.
  • In a large bowl, combine cake mix and 3/4 cup malted milk powder. Using an electric mixer, beat in water, oil, and eggs on low speed for 30 seconds, then on medium speed for 2 minutes, scraping the bowl occasionally. Pour the batter into the pan.
  • Bake for 38 to 43 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely for about 1 hour.
  • In a medium bowl, whip cream with 3/4 cup malted milk powder and vanilla on low speed until blended, then on high speed until stiff peaks form. Spread over cake. Crush malted milk balls in a small resealable plastic bag with a rolling pin or meat mallet. Just before serving, sprinkle with chopped malted milk balls. Refrigerate covered until ready to serve.
