Indulge in warm, homemade chocolate pecan scrolls after a festive New Year's Eve celebration.
Ingredients:
  • 2 x 8g sachets dried yeast
  • 250ml water
  • 80g caster sugar
  • 450g plain flour
  • 25g milk powder
  • 225g chocolate
  • 125g pecans roughly chopped
  • 60ml honey
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C and lightly grease a baking tray.
  • In a bowl, combine yeast, water, and sugar. Let it sit for 10 minutes. In another large bowl, sift together flour, milk powder, and cinnamon.
  • Combine yeast mixture with flour until fully incorporated. Knead dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes, then transfer to a greased bowl. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 45 minutes.
  • Flatten and knead dough until smooth, then roll out into a 30cm x 45cm rectangle on a lightly floured surface. Spread generously with chocolate spread and sprinkle with pecans. Roll up tightly starting from the longest side.
  • Slice the dough into 2.5cm pieces. Arrange them cut side up, 5cm apart on the baking tray. Gently flatten each piece and let them sit for 15 minutes to rise.
  • Bake for 20 minutes until golden, then brush the tops with warmed honey.
