Delicious bite-size chocolate pecan pie bars are perfect for Christmas parties or cookie gifts.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.33333334326744 cup white sugar
  • 0.33333334326744 teaspoon salt
  • 0.66666668653488 cup margarine
  • 1.5 cups light corn syrup (such as Karo®)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons margarine
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 0.125 teaspoon salt
  • 1.5 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 (11 ounce) package chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and lightly grease a 10x15-inch jelly roll pan.
  • In a big bowl, combine flour, white sugar, and salt. Add 2/3 cup of margarine and mix until it looks like coarse crumbs. Press the mixture into the prepared pan.
  • Place the dish in the hot oven for 20 minutes.
  • Combine corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, margarine, vanilla extract, and salt in a large bowl until smooth. Fold in pecans while the crust bakes.
  • Take the crust out of the oven and generously sprinkle with chocolate chips. Evenly spread the filling over the chocolate chip-covered crust.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until firm. Allow to cool completely before slicing into squares.
