Indulgent chocolate oat bars with rich fudge filling - a beloved treat that's simple to bake and oh so satisfying!
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups quick cooking oats
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1.5 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), then lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking pan to prep it for baking.
  • In a bowl, mix together oats, flour, baking soda, and salt to create the oatmeal batter.
  • Using an electric mixer, beat together brown sugar and butter in a large bowl until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, then mix well. Gradually stir in the flour mixture until fully combined.
  • Create the filling by gently heating condensed milk, chocolate chips, butter, and salt in a saucepan over low heat, stirring regularly until velvety, for 5 to 8 minutes. Take off the heat and mix in walnuts and vanilla.
  • Spread 2/3 of the oatmeal batter in the bottom of the prepared pan. Evenly distribute the filling on top and dot with the remaining batter.
  • 1. Bake in the oven that's all toasty and warm for 30 to 35 minutes until perfectly golden. Let them rest on a wire rack until they are irresistibly cool, then slice into 24 delicious bars.
