Decadent dark chocolate sorbet for chocolate aficionados.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 0.66666668653488 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.125 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons brewed espresso or strong coffee
  • 0.5 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (such as Kahlua®)
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa powder, and sea salt. Add water, espresso, and almond extract. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is smooth, remove from heat and mix in the coffee liqueur. Transfer to a bowl, cover, and chill in the refrigerator or using an ice bath until completely cold.
  • Transfer the mixture to an ice cream maker and follow the manufacturer's instructions to churn until slightly thickened, approximately 20 minutes. Once done, pour the mixture into an airtight container and freeze until firm, either for 3 to 4 hours or overnight before scooping.
