Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup butter, softened
  • 0.66666698455811 cup white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.33333298563957 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • 0.5 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons milk
  • 0.25 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 26 milk chocolate candy kisses, unwrapped
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, whip together 1/2 cup of butter, white sugar, egg yolk, 2 tablespoons of milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla until creamy. Mix in flour, cocoa, and salt until well combined. Refrigerate the dough for 1 hour until it's ready to be rolled into balls.
  • In a small bowl, gently whisk the egg white.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) for the perfect bake.
  • Roll dough into 1-inch balls, then coat in egg white and nuts. Arrange on greased baking sheets and press thumb in center of each. Bake for 10-12 minutes until set in the middle.
  • Combine 1/2 cup confectioner's sugar, 1 tablespoon of butter or margarine, 2 teaspoons of milk, and 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract in a small bowl. Stir until smooth.
  • Spoon 1/4 teaspoon of filling onto each warm cookie and gently press an unwrapped chocolate kiss into the center. Transfer to wire racks to cool.
