This irresistible treat may just become a coveted birthday tradition.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package devil's food chocolate cake mix
  • 4 (1 ounce) squares BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate
  • 1 (8 ounce) package PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
  • 0.5 cup sugar
  • 2 cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping
  • 12 OREO Cookies, coarsely crushed
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Prepare the cake batter and bake in 2 (9-inch) round pans according to the package instructions. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then invert them onto wire racks, gently remove the pans, and let the cakes cool completely.
  • In a small microwaveable bowl, heat chocolate and butter in the microwave on HIGH for 2 minutes, or until the butter is melted. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted. Let it cool for 5 minutes. While it's cooling, use a mixer to combine cream cheese and sugar in a large bowl until well blended. Gently fold in COOL WHIP and crushed cookies.
  • Place one cake layer on a plate and generously spread it with the delicious cream cheese mixture. Carefully place the second cake layer on top. Spread the top with the rich chocolate glaze and allow it to set for 10 minutes until beautifully firm. For optimal taste and freshness, store the cake in the refrigerator.
