Create a delectable layered dessert combining cherry and pecan pie flavors, topped with a decadent chocolate drizzle. Perfect for pleasing all palates at your next dinner gathering.
Ingredients:
  • 2/3 cup dried cherries
  • 3 tablespoons brandy
  • 1 crust from 1 box (14.1 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Pie Crusts (2 Count)
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups broken pecans
  • 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil
Instructions:
  • Combine the cherries and brandy in a small bowl and allow them to marinate for 15 minutes without draining.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Follow package instructions to place pie crust in a 9-inch glass pie plate for a one-crust pie. In a large bowl, combine butter, sugar, corn syrup, almond extract, and eggs using a hand beater or wire whisk until smooth. Gently fold in cherry mixture and pecans. Transfer the mixture into the prepared crust.
  • Bake the pie at 350°F for 30 minutes, and if it browns too quickly, cover it with foil after 15 minutes. Then reduce the oven temperature to 325°F and bake for an additional 12 to 15 minutes until the center is set and the surface is a deep golden brown. Allow the pie to cool for 30 minutes before serving.
  • Place the chocolate chips and oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on High for 1 minute, then stir until smooth. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the pie and let it cool completely for about 30 minutes.
