Create a delicious homemade jar gift in just 15 minutes!
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup M&M's® chocolate candies red and green
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
  • 1/2 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
Instructions:
  • Start by infusing the jar with layers of flavors: add 2 tablespoons of chocolate candies to a small resealable bag, and seal it. In a 1-quart glass jar, create a delicious stack by layering in the following order: 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons flour, salt, more chocolate candies, cocoa, another 1/2 cup of flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and walnuts. Finish by placing the bag of candies on top of the walnuts, and secure the lid. For a charming touch, consider covering the lid with a 7 to 8-inch square of fabric tied with a ribbon or raffia. Don't forget to attach a tag with the recipe and baking instructions.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease an 8- or 9-inch square pan. Reserve candies in a plastic bag. In a large bowl, combine the contents of the jar with oil, vanilla, and eggs. If the brown sugar is slightly firm, use a fork to break it up. Mix well with a spoon for about 30 strokes. Spread the batter in the pan and sprinkle the candies over the top.
  • Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until firm. Allow to cool fully, about 45 minutes. Cut the brownies into 16 squares.
