Spread holiday cheer with homemade baked treats.
Ingredients:
  • 250g butter, softened
  • 99.00 gm pure icing sugar
  • 2.20 gm vanilla extract
  • 375.00 ml plain flour
  • 65.00 gm custard powder
  • Christmas sprinkles, to decorate
  • 150.00 gm pure icing sugar, sifted
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 160°C (140°C fan-forced) and line 2 baking trays with parchment paper. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter, sugar, and vanilla until fluffy. Sift in flour and custard powder, then mix until a soft dough forms using a wooden spoon. Let the dough rest for 10 minutes.
  • Transfer one-quarter of the dough into a piping bag with a 1.5cm fluted nozzle. Pipe 6cm circles, 3cm apart, on trays. Continue with the rest of the dough to make 20 wreaths. Bake for 14-16 minutes until golden, swapping trays halfway. Cool on trays for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
  • Prepare the glaze by mixing icing sugar and lemon juice in a bowl. Place the wire rack with the biscuits over a baking tray, then generously drizzle with the glaze. Sprinkle with colorful sprinkles and allow it to set before serving.
