Festive churro log cabins adorned with gumdrops, candy canes, and red licorice, simple to make and oh-so tasty!
Ingredients:
  • 1 (16 ounce) package canned white frosting
  • 16 pre-made churros (such as Tio Pepe's®)
  • 1 box toothpicks
  • 7 graham crackers
  • 1 (14 ounce) package red licorice
  • 1 cup gumdrops
  • 1 cup small (2 1/2 inch tall) peppermint candy canes
  • 1 (1.75 ounce) package holiday sprinkles
  • 1 cup peppermint candies
  • 2 cups shredded coconut
  • 0.25 cup confectioners' sugar
Instructions:
  • Prepare the base by piping a line of frosting along one side of a churro and placing it frosting-side down on a serving platter. Continue adding churros to form a square, then stack the remaining layers on top, each time placing the churros frosting side down. Repeat to make the walls 4 churros high. Secure the structure by inserting toothpicks vertically at each corner.
  • Place a graham cracker in the center of the cabin top and use frosting to stick it to the walls. Position a second graham cracker next to it, letting it slightly hang over the side, and secure it with frosting. Repeat on the other side with a third graham cracker. Cut red licorice into two 4x3/4 inch pieces, then attach them down the middle graham cracker with frosting, spaced 3 inches apart. These will support the A-frame roof. Frost the long sides of two graham crackers and lean them together to form the A-frame, ensuring the top long sides meet and the bottom long sides are just inside the licorice. Decorate the roof with licorice and gumdrops to your liking.
  • Cabin Door: Split a graham cracker in half, frost one side, top with candy canes and holiday sprinkles. Frost the other side and attach to the front of the log cabin.
  • Break a graham cracker into quarters, then spread 3 of the quarters with a thin layer of frosting and decorate as desired. Finally, frost the backside of the windows and attach them to the sides and back of the cabin.
  • Decorate the roofline with piped frosting icicles, surround the cabin with sprinkled coconut, and dust the top with confectioners' sugar.
