Hot fried crullers coated in cinnamon sugar. A delectable delight!
Ingredients:
  • 2 quarts vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 cup water
  • 0.5 cup margarine
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions:
  • Heat the oil in a deep skillet or deep-fryer to 360 degrees F (180 degrees C), making sure it's about 1 1/2 inches deep.
  • In a medium saucepan, bring water and margarine to a rolling boil. Add the flour and salt mixture, stirring vigorously until it forms a ball, about 1 minute. Remove from heat and beat in eggs one at a time. Transfer the mixture to a pastry bag with a large star tip for piping.
  • Using precision, extrude dough into the hot oil in 4-inch strips. Fry 3 to 4 strips simultaneously until they turn golden brown, approximately 2 minutes per side. Transfer from the oil to paper towels to drain. Mix sugar and cinnamon, and coat the hot churros with the mixture.
