Waffle churros with indulgent chocolate sauce for dessert aficionados.
Ingredients:
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 64.38 gm milk
  • 100g butter, melted
  • 4.40 gm vanilla extract
  • 199.50 gm self-raising flour
  • 40.00 gm caster sugar
  • 168.75 gm white sugar
  • 2.50 gm ground cinnamon
  • 200g milk chocolate, chopped
  • 32.00 gm brown sugar
  • 83.33 gm thickened cream
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 150C/130C fan-forced. Set up a wire rack on a large baking tray and place it in the warm oven.
  • To make Fudgy Chocolate Sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine chocolate, brown sugar, and cream. Stir constantly for 5 minutes until the mixture is melted and smooth. Allow it to cool for 5 minutes before using.
  • Preheat waffle maker according to manufacturer's guidelines.
  • In a bowl, whisk together egg yolks, milk, melted butter, and vanilla. Add flour and caster sugar, whisk until nearly smooth. Using an electric mixer, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold 1/4 of the egg whites into the batter, then fold in the remaining egg whites until just combined.
  • Pour half of the waffle batter into the waffle maker and close the lid. Cook until golden and cooked through, about 1 minute and 30 seconds. Keep warm in the oven on a wire rack. Repeat with the rest of the batter.
  • Take the waffles out of the oven. Mix white sugar and cinnamon in a dish. Gently coat each waffle with the cinnamon mixture. Serve with chocolate sauce.
