Transform stale apple cider donuts into a luscious bread pudding with apples, maple syrup, and a touch of creamy half-and-half.
Ingredients:
  • cooking spray
  • 6 day-old cider donuts, broken into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 large apple - peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1.5 cups half-and-half
  • 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 0.75 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup, or more to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch square baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Combine donut pieces and apples in the baking dish.
  • In a bowl, combine half-and-half, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and cinnamon. Pour mixture into the baking dish and allow it to soak, stirring occasionally, until liquid is absorbed, approximately 15 minutes.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes until golden brown.
  • Take out of the oven and allow to cool for 15 minutes before finishing with a drizzle of maple syrup.
