Elevate your waffles with a hint of cinnamon for a delicious twist on this classic breakfast treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 tablespoon white sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs, separated, divided
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions:
  • Preheat waffle iron following manufacturer's guidelines.
  • In a bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, salt, and cinnamon. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form.
  • Combine buttermilk, melted butter, egg yolks, and vanilla in a bowl, whisk until smooth. Gently mix in the flour mixture, then fold in the whipped egg whites.
  • Place a generous scoop of batter onto the sizzling waffle iron and let it cook until golden brown and the steam dissipates, approximately 5 minutes. Repeat this process for the remaining two waffles.
