Elevate Duncan Hines French Vanilla Cake Mix with spicy cinnamon and your choice of almonds or pecans for irresistible Cinnamon Crinkles.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 0.75 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package French vanilla cake mix
  • 48 whole almonds or pecans
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and set aside. Lightly beat egg whites and water in another small bowl and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, mix together butter, egg yolks, and vanilla extract. Gradually add in the cake mix while beating at low speed with an electric mixer until well combined. Roll rounded teaspoons of dough into balls. Dip half of each ball into egg white mixture, then into cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place balls sugar side up on an ungreased baking sheet and press a nut on top. Repeat with remaining dough, spacing the balls 2 inches apart.
  • Bake at 375 degrees F for 9 to 12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden brown. Allow to cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes, then transfer to cooling racks. Store in an airtight container.
