Overnight sugar cinnamon French toast bake - a delightful make-ahead breakfast or brunch loved by all.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 12 slices cinnamon raisin bread
  • 6 large eggs
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine white sugar, brown sugar, and butter, then bring to a boil. Stir occasionally and let it boil for 5 minutes.
  • Spread 1/3 of the mixture in a buttered 9x13-inch baking pan. Layer half of the bread slices over the mixture. Drizzle another 1/3 of the sugar mixture over the first layer of bread, then add the remaining bread slices. Set aside and save the rest of the sugar mixture.
  • Whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl, then pour the mixture over the bread. Cover with foil and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and remove the dish cover.
  • Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, approximately 45 minutes. Drizzle with any leftover glaze before serving.
